God.

Someone needed to just stab me with a pin like a bug in a collection.

“Yes.” When I didn’t die, I knew I could get out a bit more. “I like that. You…nothing you’ve done makes me nervous.”

It didn’t matter if he was Fraser or Daddy, he always made me feel good.

Ugh.

I needed to tell him that too.

Wiggling so I could hide against his neck, I ignored his quiet snickers. “You always make me feel incredible and I’ve loved everything that we’ve done.”

Kissing his neck as he petted me, I tried not to sigh again but it was hard. “I…well, I didn’t do it very well the first time I tried it, so I decided I wasn’t going to put myself in that position again.”

Daddy groaned. “Baby, you just had a partner who went too fast, who didn’t prep you enough, or who you just didn’t want to do that with to begin with. A lot of men and women don’t do that if it’s not with the right partner.”

Really?

“So you don’t think I was a cold worm?” My question had Daddy huffing and he shifted me higher so he could see my face.

Shoot.

“No.” When I lifted my head on my own, he gave me a kiss and a solemn frown. “You are not a cold worm…even though that’s not a thing and you bug guys don’t get to reinvent language just because you find new insects. It’s cold fish and you are not one of those.”

It was hard not to laugh at that, but since he was serious, I did my best to keep a straight face. “I’ll remember that, Daddy.”

“Good.” He stole another quick kiss before he relaxed his hold and let me hide again. “Because if you keep thinking that, then I’ll have to just prove it to you. I’m already wondering if I could organize my thoughts well enough to show you what I’m feeling when I’m spanking you.”

I couldn’t help the way I sucked in a breath.

Daddy chuckled, and the low, naughty sound sent a shiver through me. “Ha, I heard that. Yes, I’m going to have to figure out how to explain that.”

He was going to start narrating our sex life.

Shit.

Damn it. He made me curse.

Ugh.

“I’m not going to ask what you’re thinking because it looks like I’d have to punish you for it.” Daddy’s teasing frown and stern voice had a shiver racing through me. He managed not to laugh as he nodded slowly. “Yes, that was another naughty boy behavior.”

Definitely.

But I wasn’t ready to talk about that yet…because he was in the mood to tell me what it meant if I did something silly like ask.

“I…I…I liked being the big spoon.” Yes, suddenly that wasn’t the hardest conversation we could’ve had. “When do you want to get married?”

Daddy laughed that time and didn’t look sorry at all, but once he stopped snickering, he kissed my head and looked very pleased with himself. “I have no idea how we get married on a cruise ship but we should be able to figure that out. And as soon as possible? Definitely before the start of the school year so we can have a wonderful honeymoon.”

Something about the way he said that made my cheeks heat back up, and as I hid against his neck, he laughed again. “I think that means you agree with me. So let’s try to book everything ourselves and head out like we’re taking a quick trip. But if we need help getting things organized, we’re going to use a completely human-based company on the other side of the country.”

I’d have laughed at how ridiculous he was being, but I wasn’t sure that was far enough. “Just make sure their phone people aren’t in a high magic population area.”

His groan said he hadn’t thought about that.

“With as crazy as shit gets around here, we’d end up getting a mage on the phone who’d spelled the damned system.” Daddy’s idea was scary but fascinating.

I couldn’t help looking up and wiggling back enough to make sure I could see him. “Do you think the phone system could be spelled to make sure the customer service person knows what the person on the other end of the line really wants?”

Blinking, Daddy took a second to answer. “Fuck. I don’t know. I was being a smart-ass. Well, I thought I was being a smart-ass.”

I was starting to have more and more questions about how magic worked, but I wasn’t sure anyone in the area could actually answer any of them.

Opening my mouth to at least get a couple of them out, I sucked in a breath as Daddy rolled us over so I was pinned to the bed. “You really will talk about anything else to avoid a subject you’re uncomfortable with.”

How was that a surprise?
