Oh, he was a devious Daddy. He knew she was aroused from his teasing hand. But she decided to pretend she could ignore her lack of panties and her wet, needy pussy. She didn’t want him to think she was so greedy for sex that she couldn’t function.
She just prayed she ended up being correct. One thing was for sure, she wasn’t liable to remember much about this trip to the zoo. She was going to be far too focused on the amazing Daddy who had fallen into her life and flipped it upside down in less than five days.
That and the wetness building between her legs.
Chapter Seven
Arriving at the zoo, Grayson parked and escorted Valerie to the gates. They’d missed the opening rush and waltzed inside without any fuss. Grayson steered her to the large map of the zoo.
“What would you like to see first?” he asked.
“Can we go see the penguins? They’re so funny.” She rocked back and forth as if she were a waddling penguin.
Chuckling, Grayson agreed. “Let’s check in on the polar bears too. They’re my favorite. Did you know that a polar bear’s skin is black and its fur is transparent?”
“Uh uh. Then why doesn’t it look black?”
“The sun reflecting on it makes it look white.”
“Really? You wouldn’t lie to me, would you?” She looked at him skeptically.
Grayson stroked his chest in an X-pattern with his fingers. “I’ll never lie to you. Promise. I bet we’ll read that on one of the signs.”
“Let’s see what else we can find out.”
Walking at a gentle pace, Valerie could feel her leggings gliding over the bandage that Tatiana had placed on her skin. She was very proud of herself for getting the tattoo. Featured on the top of her I-want-to-do-this list, getting a tattoo had seemed very unlikely because Valerie knew she couldn’t go by herself. She squeezed her Daddy’s hand.
“What are you thinking about so hard over there, Cupcake?”
“This has been the best birthday ever!”
“It’s not even halfway done.”
As they walked, several people wished her a happy birthday after reading Valerie’s T-shirt. One even commented that the cupcake made him hungry and he wished it was his birthday.
When they’d passed, Grayson whispered, “Me, too.”
“Do you want to stop to get something… Oops! You mean…” Valerie felt her cheeks burn with embarrassment and knew she was bright red.
“I think I’ll wait until later,” he suggested.
“Definitely,” she agreed before realizing what she had just encouraged.
His chuckle made her hide her face against his hard bicep and whisper, “Daddy!”
“Look, there are the penguins!”
Thankful for his distraction, she rushed forward, leaning to tug him to the edge of the enclosure. To Valerie’s delight, there were a bunch of them outside. They seemed to be waiting for her. She laughed when a zookeeper joined them with a large bucket balanced on a wheelbarrow.
The penguins gathered around to ask for a treat, and Valerie watched closely to see that the caretaker made sure that even the smallest of the flock got a fish from the bucket. Then, setting the bucket to the side, she pushed the wheelbarrow to the edge of the water and tilted the contents out. A large block of ice skidded down into the water with a splash. Immediately, the penguins swarmed into the water and played on and around the icy chunk.
“They sure like that cold water,” Valerie commented. “I don’t like it when the water is chilly.”
“I’ll keep that in mind. Warm baths only,” Grayson promised before pointing to the informational sign. “Let’s go see what random new fact we can learn about the penguins.”
“A group of penguins on the ground is called a waddle,” Valerie read and giggled. “That’s fun. I’m going to remember that.”
After taking her picture with the cavorting creatures behind her, Grayson suggested, “Polar bears next?”
“Let’s go.”
At each exhibit, they read the description of the animals carefully. Valerie loved doing this together. At each one, she picked out one fact to remember about that animal and recited them all in her head until she was sure she wouldn’t forget. She wanted to remember all the fun from this trip.
She’d always loved going to the zoo. With Grayson, it became a magical place. They took selfies and alternated who posed with the animals by themselves. Valerie was thrilled at the thought of having pictures of her handsome Daddy celebrating with her. They ate unhealthy zoo snacks. It was so much fun.
“Time to go home, Little girl,” Grayson pronounced when she yawned.
“I don’t want to. This is so much fun. We haven’t ridden the train yet.”
“We’ll do that on our next trip here,” he promised.
A jaw-stretching yawn delayed her response. “I’m not tired,” she tried to assure him.
“Daddy is. You’ll bring me back another day so I can enjoy it more, right?” he requested.
“If you’re worn out, I guess we could go,” she caved. Her tattoo was starting to itch-hurt.
