“Yesss…” I mean, that’s what I wanted, even if there was most likely a gun pointed at the back of my head right now. I wasn’t sure if they followed us up or if they were discussing how gruesome my murder and burial should be.

She wasn’t the only one who wanted freedom from an arranged marriage; she was just the braver of us two to actually say something—though I wished she would have told me before running downstairs and throwing me to the wolves.

Brave.

Fearless.

God, that felt good. “Stop, stop.” I grabbed her hands and pinned them above her head. “If you don’t stop, I’m going to make a mess all over you.”

She jerked her chin up at me. “Then make a mess, Santino.”

“Don’t you mean fiancé? Future husband?”

Her eyes flashed before she blinked and looked away, struggling against me. “You were the best option.”

I gritted my teeth then pressed a heated kiss to her turned neck. “And you think you should have even been an option for me?”

“No. Maybe.” She sheepishly looked back up at me. “On a scale of one to ten, how mad are you?”

“Why use words when I could just show you?” I taunted.

There it was, the blaze I was used to seeing behind the sadness and fear in her eyes; she bit her bottom lip and stared at my mouth like she was asking permission to kiss the shit out of my mouth while creating streaks of blood from her fingernails down my body.

She was still in her dress from dinner, though it was a bit messy from the bloodbath that had broken out earlier, and she hadn’t even taken time to change after her mind started working on a plan of escape, so I didn’t feel bad ripping the side of her dress up past her waist and tugging it away from her skin.

Her eyes said yes, her body said please. I shoved her skirt higher, her lips parted on a gasp when I released her hands and gripped the headboard above her. Looking down at her was like staring at a fallen angel, so cliche but so real. She’d seen more than any human should have to.

Nobody had protected her the way I had.

Was this how I would end up protecting her, then?

With the physical shielding of my body?

Would I even last that long, being able to stare down at this woman, helping the Five Families, knowing that it was mine that was after them in a power struggle?

The Five Families had the best of the best, but the Sinacores were royalty in Italy; I wasn’t sure how things would end.

But I knew the beginning was messy.

And the middle, the present? It was hot.

So fucking hot.

And after slipping my hand between her thighs, so very slippery a slope we were about to embark on.

“Your choice.” My muscles flexed, my knuckles turning white as I gripped that headboard after moving them from her thighs and holding on tight.

“And if I choose to stab you?”

“I’m okay with blood.” I hissed, my dick so hard I realized in that moment I’d rather any other sort of torture than knowing she wanted me, knowing she was forbidden, knowing the memory of what it was like inside her.

A knock sounded at the door. “Santino! Katya, I know you’re in there.”

Katya laughed below me. “You told us to go to our rooms.”

“I meant your separate rooms!” Andrei yelled again.

“Give us like ten minutes. We have things to…” She eyed my still hardening dick. “…discuss.”

“THERE WILL BE NO DISCUSSING ANYTHING—”

“Give them ten minutes.” That was Phoenix’s voice. “Stop cursing; you would do the same. Don’t be a jackass. Go grab some vodka, you Russian prick—”

More cursing.

“It’s not my fault!”

It was quiet, and then another voice sounded. “I expected more than ten minutes. It’s called stamina.” Chase chuckled, and footsteps sounded.

I thought they were gone.

Even if they weren’t, I couldn’t take it anymore—instead, I took her hard against the headboard, sliding into her so easily that I moaned.

She grabbed my forearms and held on for dear life while I fucked her; it wasn’t romantic or pretty. Then again, neither was her rescue, and neither were we.

I knew that they could probably hear the headboard hitting the wall or the semi-squeaky bed, but I really didn’t give a shit, not while I was in heaven.

“Deeper, Santino. You can do that, right? With that giant dick of yours.” She squeezed her eyes shut, teeth clenched.

“Lay down and wrap your legs around me,” I ordered. “I’m going to flip you onto your stomach.”

She let go, and while still inside her, I flipped her onto her stomach and pushed deeper. “Raise your hips, Katya.”

She did. I could tell because she clenched so hard around me, it was almost painful.

“That feels different.” She pounded a fist against the pillows and then screamed into one when I bit her ass.
