He stands in the doorway, his broad shoulders filling the space as both hands brace against the doorjamb. His head is lowered, strands of dark hair falling into his eyes, casting shadows over his expression. The dim light from the moon catches the edges of his jawline, highlighting the tension there. With one swift, almost defiant snap of his head, his eyes lock onto mine, and I’m instantly ensnared by the blazing intensity within them. There's a storm brewing in those eyes—an emotion I can’t quite identify, but it sends a thrill through me. It's the same electric charge that crackled between us in that tiny broom closet, a heady mix of desire and something deeper, something raw and untamed. My breath hitches, and I feel the air around us thicken with the weight of unspoken words, emotions simmering just beneath the surface, waiting to erupt.

He doesn’t utter a word, his silence thick with intent. Instead, he closes the distance between us in a heartbeat, his strong hands grabbing hold of me with a possessive urgency. I gasp as he lifts me effortlessly into his arms, my body instinctively molding to his. My legs wrap tightly around his midsection, the warmth of his body seeping through my clothes as my hands cling to his shoulders for balance. In one fluid motion, he kicks the front door shut behind him with the solid thud of his boot, the sound echoing through the apartment. The air between us hums with a charged energy, every movement filled with purpose, every breath we take a shared rhythm of anticipation.

Tripp carts me off toward my bedroom and I don’t protest. Instead I love it. It reminds me of something right out of a romance novel, and my insides clench at what’s to come.

He drops me onto my bed, and his eyes meet mine. His lip lifts into a slight smile as his eyes roam over my body. “You’re stunning,” he whispers, and my heart nearly explodes.

“Tripp, I didn’t think you were going to come,” I whisper.

He undoes his belt buckle. “Are you kidding? How could I not? You’re a vision, and I wouldn’t miss this for anything in the world.” Next he undoes his pants, and steps out of his shoes. “I’ve been dreaming about this for a really long time, Millie.”

“You have?”

“Longer than you’d ever know.”

My heart thumps loudly in my chest, and I can’t believe what I’m hearing. “Since I’ve been with Brock?”

“Since I first met you, Millie.”

My eyes widen in shock. I remember the first time I met Tripp. It was the same night I met Brock. I’d gone to the brewery for a drink with the ladies from the Biddies Book Club. They’d said I needed to try their chicken and waffle sandwich, and they weren’t kidding, it was amazing. So were the Atwood brothers.

I remember spotting Brock and Tripp at the same time, but Brock walked right over and introduced himself. He was so forward that he even asked me for my number, but I remember thinking I liked Tripp more.

June gave Brock my number before I could even protest, and I remember they told me I had to date him. Give him a try, they’d all said. So I did, but Brock and I didn’t fit. Like a square wooden peg trying to fit into a circular hole.

However, the chemistry between Tripp and me is amazing. It’s hot and makes me want to do things to his body. Naughty things.

I never knew I could feel this way. I never thought I’d ever meet a man who could get me off in a matter of seconds, but staring at Tripp as he removes his clothing makes me want to come right here on the spot.

“I’ve been thinking about being inside your pussy all night long,” he growls out as he removes his t-shirt, and oh my goodness, six-pack upon six-pack.

I swallow. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many muscles before,” I tell him.

He smiles wide, proud and assure. “If you’re a good girl I might let you lick them.”

I laugh, a short quick burst of laughter. “If I’m a good girl, huh?” I move onto my knees, unzipping the back of my dress. “What qualifies as a good girl?” I give him a little pout with my lips, and bat my long lashes at him.

He growls again. “Fuck, Millie, I think everything you do qualifies as a good girl.”

“Then, let me lick your muscles.” I laugh again. However, I do want to lick his muscles. I want to run my tongue through every groove and ripple. I want to feel his smooth skin. He’s gorgeous and it should be illegal.

His dark hair is messy as he moves closer to the edge of the bed. “Dress off first, little bunny.”

I love when he calls me his little bunny. It feels like something special between us. Like our own private inside joke that nobody else is privy to. It makes me feel special.
