In the meantime, Lucian raided our bathroom and sitting area for our aftercare kit, the boys’ stuffies, and extra blankets.

“Daddy, are you sure you don’t need help?” Cam asked from upstairs.

I smirked to myself and shook the mustard. “This must be torture for you, honey. But I think I got this.”

“If not, I have poison control on speed dial,” he joked, snickering.

I just grinned. He was too cute.

Sandwiches were otherwise my jam. Delicious bread—made by Cam—cheese, turkey, little bit of mustard, crisp lettuce, little bit of mayo too—even that was homemade by Cam—and tomatoes. See? Perfectly fine meal.

I cut each sandwich into triangles and plated them. Napkins, soda, water, candy, hmm…might as well grab a bag of chips—

“You’re not taking chips, are you?” Cam pressed.

I paused with my hand halfway into the cabinet.

“The sandwiches are a hazard enough for the bed,” he said.

He had a point. I let the chips be. “I may not be anything to brag about in the kitchen, but I wasn’t born yesterday. I would never bring chips into bed.”

They had so little faith in me.

I heard Lucian sigh behind me. “Don’t even think about apologizing. I saw him reaching for a bag.”

Fucker!

I threw him a look over my shoulder—but then I saw the remnants of remorse on Cam’s face. Shit. Poor boy was so worried we’d fuck up a snack that he was lying on the floor up there, just poking his head down. And then he’d felt bad for telling me something I probably should’ve known.

“Fine,” I said. “I’ll admit it. I like beds and I like chips, and sometimes I think they go together. Was that what you wanted to hear?”

Cam shook his head, eyes thankfully brimming with amusement now. “Not in the least, Daddy. Master’s right. You’re a heathen.”

I puckered my lips at him.

“And don’t think it goes unnoticed that Daddy turns you into a brat sometimes,” Lucian told Cam. He extended the stuffies to Cam, followed by the aftercare kit.

Our boy was in a good mood, and it felt great to see his grin.

“I’m not a brat,” he whispered.

“Sometimes you are,” Lucian whispered back.

“Why are we whispering?” I whispered.

“Why are you taking forever!” Noa yelled.

I cracked up.

Lucian shook his head and failed to hide his mirth. “But those two are worse.”

“Agreed,” Cam giggled.

They were wrong. Noa and I were angels.

Lucian came over to me to take the snacks off my hands and help me gather the food on a tray, and then he ducked in for a quick kiss.

“Tonight was hot as fuck,” he murmured. “I love watching you.”

I smiled, a little taken aback, and went in for another kiss.

Unsure of how to respond, I figured it was a good time to stroke his ego instead. I didn’t know why I felt the desire to, but love did strange things to a person.

“It was fun…” I nipped at his bottom lip. “But it doesn’t beat getting fucked by you.”

It worked. His expression darkened with heat and possessiveness. “It better fucking not, my love.”

Hell.

A guy could get used to that.

Lucian pressed a final kiss to my jaw, then headed over to the ladder.

I raked my teeth over my bottom lip. Sometimes, I just wanted to shout from the rooftops what a lucky motherfucker I was. Not only because we had those two adorable boys who made us so incredibly happy, but because they had let Lucian and me finally find our way to each other.

I was the last one to head upstairs since I had to take the lift, and I left my cane behind and gripped the handlebars.

The boys were quick to get busy with the snacks.

Lucian waited for me upstairs and offered me his arm.

Maybe this was how we’d missed each other’s underlying feelings for so long.

I wasn’t going to pretend I had been in love with him forever, because I hadn’t. Neither had he. But our togetherness had been forged more clearly as soon as he’d broken up with that fuckwit that Cam and I had low-key hated together. And that was still… Shit, early last year? Or was it before the holidays the year before? I didn’t remember exactly.

In the end, it didn’t matter either, but this was how we’d shown each other affection since we were kids, by being there. He was quick to assist me when he knew my strength was near nonexistent. I’d always made sure he’d taken time to eat lunch. Hell, I’d had to call his PA so many times. As teenagers, he’d invited me over to his house because he knew I’d hated my parents. In turn, I’d gone with him to the hospital for his father’s last months on this earth.

“Noa, make room for Daddy, please,” Lucian said.

“Yessir!” Noa rolled over to Cam and squirmed out of his jammies. “I think it’s best we go naked, okay? My butt cannot handle fabric right now.”
