After what felt like an eternity but was probably only a few minutes, she made her way toward the main bar, where she caught the bartender’s attention.

“Hey,” she said, all but shouting. “I don’t suppose you’ve seen a woman … blonde, beautiful, goes by the name Raine?”

“Sweetheart, in case you haven’t noticed, all women here are beautiful. Now, why don’t you tell me your name?” He gave her a wink, and she figured he had to be drunk or something to be hitting on her with her curlers still in.

Raine often told her she looked like an old woman, that she should just throw on some product and be done with it.

Her mother taught her the value of taking care of her hair, and doing it properly. Since she was no longer with her, she would continue her teaching for a long time. For the rest of her life. Just thinking about her mother’s passing was enough to bring a stabbing pain to her chest.

“No, thanks. Can I look around?” she asked, not wanting to cause trouble.

“Go ahead.”

This surprised her, but she didn’t tell him it did. All she wanted to do was get in, grab Raine, and leave. It sounded simple to her.

Stepping around people was next to impossible as they kept bumping into her. She apologized where she could and attempted to make her excuses, but then she saw a door and was so grateful to have found it. She burst through it, finding a long corridor and stairwell.

“Fuck!” She gritted her teeth together.

“Now, I don’t think that’s any way a lady should be talking.”

She spun around and saw a figure leaning against the wall in the darkness. “Yeah, well, I guess you’d be surprised how far a woman can be pushed before she just snaps.” She brushed down her body. “Ugh, I don’t suppose you … have seen my friend.”

“Friends don’t come here.”

That was a weird thing to say, and she frowned. “She’s blonde, beautiful, uh, goes by the name Raine.”

“I know who your friend is. Upstairs, three doors to the right. You’ll find her.”

She felt so relieved.

“Thank you.”

He didn’t say another word as she took to the stairs and found the door. With one twist of the doorknob, it opened, and Dinah stood on the threshold as she watched her friend, not with one man, but three, and she was in total shock. Her best friend was looking so damn happy with herself. Ecstatic even, begging for more in-between sucking a man’s cock.

“Is that your friend?”

Dinah jumped and spun around to come eye to eye with a man whose face was scarred. He’d been in the shadows in the corridor but now she got to see him. It was strange, but she had a feeling this man had been very handsome, if not sexy at one time.

The scars on his face to many would be repulsive, but she wasn’t like most people. They didn’t repulse her. She knew scars told a story, and sometimes those tales were not for the faint of heart.

She looked at him and had the weirdest urge to just lay her palm against his cheek and tell him it was going to be okay.

“Yes, that’s my friend, and you could have warned me.”

“Dinah!” There was an excited squeal. “You came, come on in and join the fun. I’m not going to be jealous,” Raine said.

“I don’t think…” She turned to the scarred man. “It’s time for me to leave.”

Several hours later, Road sat at the bar, waiting, keeping an eye on the doorway leading to the main bedrooms.

He didn’t know why Vlad, Hail, and Stan had decided to share a woman but he was more interested in the woman than what they were doing. Actually, he was more interested in the woman’s friend. The moment the curler-wearing beauty had walked into the clubhouse compound, he’d been curious. He’d been in the security room, checking over the perimeter of the clubhouse, waiting for any potential threat.

Sergey Golubev, their one and only enemy at the moment, was still reeling from what they had done to him, and to Paul Butterworth. In killing Paul Butterworth, a piece of shit human and child-trafficker, they had sent out a message that anyone dealing with Sergey Golubev was at risk.

From what their sources surrounding the Golubev Bratva told them, and from the inside, it had caused a few problems with business deals.

This made Road exceedingly happy, but also proved once again why Brute, the president of the Evil Fallen Bratva MC, was the fucking lead. The man knew when to act and how to get the most out of everything.

The man was a machine. A machine that was currently enjoying his wife’s pregnancy. Yes. Brute decided to fall in love and marry Sergey’s bastard granddaughter. It even amazed Road, but he wasn’t surprised. He wanted to hate Faith, but that woman had a way of making you love her. It was another mistake of Sergey’s, in letting that woman go, and hurting her. She was amazing. He also liked that she didn’t look at him with pity. Like the woman did tonight.
