“Yes, Daddy.”
“I’m going to do this fast since we need to get ready for our date.”
Smack! Smack!
Holy shit! All thoughts fled as fire erupted on her ass. What the heck? Why was this so different from lying over his lap?
Smack! Smack!
Maybe because he’s not holding you? You have to stand here and take it.
She went up onto her tiptoes, a sob escaping her as two other smacks landed. Sure enough, he wasn’t pausing to check in with her.
“Daddy, no more!” she cried.
“Four more. And I want you to stand still and take them.”
“I can’t,” she wailed.
“You can and you will. Because you were naughty. And because you know that you need this.”
Did she?
Oh yeah, because she liked boundaries and rules. Knowing that he cared.
It just seemed like he might care a bit too much. If he cared a little less, then she might sit easier tomorrow.
Smack! Smack!
A sob escaped, tears dripped down her cheeks.
“Daddy,” she cried.
“Two more, baby. You’re doing so well.”
The last two seemed even harder than the others if that was possible. But then she was spun around and held his arms. He lifted her up so her legs could wrap around his waist.
“That’s it, baby. Let it all out. Good girl.”
“I’m not a good girl,” she cried.
“Of course you are. You just forgot to take care of yourself today. But luckily, Daddy is here to help you, isn’t he? And maybe you’ll start to listen to your body’s signs.”
“It’s sooo hard.”
“Shh, Little girl. I know it is. But you never have to be alone again because Daddy will always be here.”
Damn.
Yep, he knew all the right things to say.
And she really, really hoped he meant them.

Hack handed his card over to the server to pay for the bill.
She still felt guilty that she wasn’t helping out more with finances.
“What’s that look for?” He slid his hand along her thigh as they sat in the booth. He’d been doing that all evening.
Driving her freaking insane.
She didn’t think she’d ever felt this turned on in her life.
Did he know what he was doing to her?
Of course he knew.
“You need to stop.”
As soon as she said the words, her body protested. He didn’t need to stop. Not at all.
“If you want me to stop, what do you say?”
“My safeword.”
“Are you saying your safeword, Ladybug?”
She groaned. “You know I’m not.”
He grinned smugly.
“Asshole.”
His eyebrows rose. “Did you just call me an asshole?”
“No, Daddy. Not me.”
“That’s good, because otherwise Daddy might have to put you over his knee in the parking lot.”
Yikes.
Relief filled her as their server returned with his card. She leaned against his arm.
“Thank you.”
“Ladybug, you never have to thank me for looking after you.” He kissed the top of her head.
But she did. Because she appreciated him.
So damn much.
“Do you need to go potty before we leave?”
She shook her head, glancing around and hoping no one could hear them. But they were pretty secluded at the back of the Italian restaurant.
“Sure?”
“I’m sure. I promise.”
He slid out and held his hand to her, helping her up. As she moved, she slammed her knee into the bottom of the table.
“Ow. Ouch.”
“Baby, you okay?” He crouched down and took hold of her leg.
A blush worked its way up her cheeks. “I’m fine.”
He sent her a chiding look. “Don’t lie.”
“No, I really am. It was just a small bang.”
“Let Daddy give it a magical kiss,” he whispered, before lightly kissing her knee.
Her cheeks grew red and she glanced around, but no one was look at them.
“Will that help until I can check it over?”
“Yes, Daddy. That’s perfect.”
“Now, get up carefully.” He treated her like she was so delicate.
Honestly, the more time she spent with him, the more she fell for him.
And those ragged pieces of her soul started to mend.
He held her hand tightly as he led her out of the restaurant, as though he thought she might disappear on him. When they reached his truck, he opened her door and lifted her in sideways.
She was wearing long, loose pants, and he easily raised the material, so he could see her knee. Although, there wasn’t a lot of light out here.
He ran his finger over her knee, pressing lightly. She hissed.
“I think this is going to bruise. We need to be more careful with you.”
“I’m sure it will be fine. Just a small bruise. Although, it might need another magical kiss.”
He bent down and kissed her knee again. “There you are.”
“Hmm, I’m not sure it’s feeling completely better. I think I might need some treasure.”
“Do you really think so?”
“Uh-huh.” She nodded solemnly.
“Well, you have been very brave. Maybe once we get you home, you can see if there’s any treasure in my chest for you.”
Oh yay!
He carefully slid her around in the seat and buckled up her seatbelt. Then, leaning over her, he kissed her gently.
