“Oh…”

“You going to let me in? Or are you going to wait around until your dates comes back?”

“Until… My dates?”

“It’s your business, but I should warn you I’m not the kind of man to share my women.”

“I don’t… What are you talking about?”

“If I wade in there with you, then you’re going to have to kick your boy toys to the curb.”

I can’t help but laugh.

“My boy toys?”

“You heard me.”

“Let’s see how it goes, then I’ll talk to my… boy toys.”

“How it goes? You think you’re going to try me out?” he grumbles.

“Well, if I decide to wade in there with you, I need to know you’re worth it first,” I respond, trying to keep from busting out in laughter.

“Trouble clean through. I should have known it. As long as you get that I don’t share.”

“I believe I get that.”

“Good.”

“So, you coming in or what?”

“I’ve changed my mind.”

“What?” I ask, confused.

“I don’t think I want to be that quick to come in and take the place of the men that came before me.”

“The men? Listen, I think—”

“Saw them both leaving. Doesn’t take a genius to figure out what you’ve been getting here and how you like it. That’s why I’m telling you, I don’t share what’s mine.”

“Wow. You got all that just from seeing Dom and Thomas leaving my place?”

“I’ve seen them at the club. I know they’re prospects. If you’re just trying to get back at Daddy, hey I’m cool. I can play that game. But, I don’t share.”

“Good to know,” I mutter, rolling my eyes.

“You figure out if that’s something you want to pursue. If so, meet me down at Freeman Park tomorrow about six.”

“Freeman Park?”

“You know where it’s at?”

“Well, yeah. I’m the one from here. I’m just surprised you do.”

“Passed it just as I crossed the county line here. I figure there’s not much that goes on that your dad won’t hear about, but until we see what we have between us, there’s no point in advertising it.”

“You didn’t strike me as the cautious type, Chains.”

“All things in moderation. You think over what I told you. If you don’t show, I’ll have my answer.”

“I don’t think we—”

I want to explain about my brothers, but he steps into me, stopping me from talking. He curls his hand against the side of my neck, pulling me in deep. He stops when our lips are so close that when he speaks I feel his breath and a faint brush of his lips against mine.

“Before you make up your mind, I should get a shot at proving to you why you should show, right?” he whispers. I can’t reply. I’m not sure I could speak if my life depended on it, but the point is moot because his lips slide against mine and I’m lost.

His lips are much softer than I would have imagined. His beard tickles my skin, but feels amazing at the same time. His tongue dances along my lip and I open my mouth, needing to give him entry—craving his kiss in a way that I’ve never wanted anything else before.

He growls into my mouth and I swallow that sound as our tongues wrap around each other, his asserting dominance and mine begging for more.

I’m not sure how long the kiss goes on, but when it stops my breath is coming in ragged gasps. I’ve been kissed before, but never like this.

“Tomorrow, Kayden,” he promises, letting me go. He walks away; I’m stuck watching him.

He doesn’t turn around and I can’t turn away.

Chains

I need my fucking head examined. Kayden is obviously into playing games. She wants to tie her daddy up in knots and make him eat shit. I should have walked away the minute I saw them two kids go up to her apartment. I started to, but the strangest fucking thing happened.

I got jealous as hell.

I parked outside all fucking night, like some sort of damn creeper. I was so jealous that I couldn’t see straight. I’ve never been jealous in my life. Fuck, I didn’t even get jealous when I caught Angie sucking off another man and she had my ring on her damn finger.

“Normally when I show up on a date the guy doesn’t look like he’s ready to kill someone,” Kayden says and I jerk my head up to look at her.

Fuck, she looks good.

She’s wearing this skimpy as hell white dress with thin spaghetti straps. Her fucking tits are barely contained in it and the bottom of the dress falls on her thighs. If she was my woman, I’d chain her to the bed, spank her ass and demand that when she goes out in public she wear more clothes.

“You’re looking good, Baby Girl.”

“So are you,” she smirks. Jesus, she’s got so much fire in her that I have a feeling she could burn a man clear through.
