“No problem.” Rose laughs. “I love the book club. I’m learning so much.” I’m sure she is. The Silver Spoon MC wives have very naughty taste. It keeps life interesting. I laugh to myself.

While I fight through the morning sickness, Damien arranges a small wedding ceremony at the clubhouse. Hadley and Kira take care of the flowers and all the decorations while Gloria prepares the light lunch. Jude, Damien’s attorney MC brother, arranges for a judge to marry us. The tight-knit club keeps everything under wraps so no press shows up.

We have a wonderful day, but I’m unable to enjoy it. My sickness isn’t letting up, and I end up spending most of my wedding day praying I don’t puke in front of everyone.

“I promise to make this up to you.” Damien tucks me into bed later that night.

“There’s nothing to make up,” I reassure him. “I wouldn’t change a thing. Well, except for the frequent puking.”

“I love you.” He kisses the side of my cheek. “And I’m sorry this isn’t the wedding night you dreamed of.”

“I got my dream prince,” I tell him as he lays behind me and gently pulls me against his hard body. “We have a lifetime of wedding nights ahead of us. And I’ve been saving up all the ideas from the book club books.”

“I look forward to you trying all your new tricks out on me.” My new husband smiles at me. “And I promise to give you the honeymoon of your dreams on my private Caribbean Island once you feel up to it.”

“Private island?” I stutter. “You own a private island?”

“We own St. Bella.” He smiles down at me. “Everything I own is now also yours.” Damien reminds me that he refused to let me sign a prenuptial agreement, even though Lorenzo arranged for it. The brothers argued bitterly over the document, and I even offered to sign it but Damien wouldn’t hear of it.

With Lorenzo not showing up at our wedding, I start to worry that our rushed wedding has ticked him off. Damien assured me earlier that everything is fine with his older brother, but I won’t stop worrying until I know for sure.

“I can’t wait to see my island,” I tease him.

“I can’t wait to see you lying naked on the private beach.”

My girly parts wake up at the thought, but I’m in no shape to do anything about it.

At our next doctor’s appointment, we have an ultrasound and find out why I’m so freaking sick. “It’s a two-for-one.” Dr. Fielding points at the two black blobs on the screen, and my husband turns pale. “That’s baby A and this is baby B,” she explains, then notices Damien’s pallor. “Are you okay?”

“Two?” He points at my stomach. “There are two in there.”

Dr. Fielding nods her head. “It’s why Milly is so sick. Twins means even more elevated hormones. All the hormonal changes are wreaking havoc on her system, which is causing the extreme morning sickness.”

“Does that mean the sickness will last all nine months?” I have to know. This is going to suck.

“I’m not sure.” The doctor finishes the ultrasound and sits back to remove her gloves. “Hopefully, your body will get used to all the changes and you’ll start feeling better, but I can’t guarantee it.”

“What can we do?” I beg her for suggestions. Surely, there is something that will help.

“Keep doing what you’re already doing.” Then she lists, “You need lots of rest and a healthy diet. Take your antinausea medicine and vitamins and get light exercise when possible. With multiples, we schedule your appointments more frequently. I’ll start seeing you every two weeks.”

Before we leave the office, the nurse gives me a huge packet of information and schedules my appointments for the rest of my pregnancy. Boy, the ending can’t come soon enough.

Over the next few weeks, I settle into a more regular puking pattern. I’m sick first thing in the morning, but then I feel slightly better most of the day. The nausea usually returns around dinner time. We fall into a regular pattern with the help of Damien’s MC brothers and their families.

Damien finishes his new video game, and it should be ready for release right after the baby comes.

One afternoon, Rose shows up with a pile of bags. “I have goodies,” she tells me and starts unpacking baby clothes. We decided not to find out the sex of the babies. The only thing we know for sure is they are identical, so we really will get two for one.

“This is for the babies.” She holds up several sleepers and baby blankets on the sofa for me to see. “And this is for the fur babies.” Rose shows me matching yellow collars for the dogs. Princess’ collar has a big yellow bow, and Elvis’s has a small bowtie.
